Arc — Privacy Policy
Effective 31 July 2026 · applies to the iOS app com.wuyuxai.arc and its widget
Arc has no accounts and no servers of ours. Everything you record stays on your
device and, if you leave iCloud on, in your own private iCloud. We cannot see any of it.
What we collect
Nothing. Arc sends no data to us, because there is nowhere for it to go —
we run no servers, no analytics, no ad networks, and the app contains no third-party SDKs.
There is no sign-up, no email, no profile.
Where your data lives
- On your device. Your challenges, daily ticks, notes and settings are stored
in Arc's own container on your iPhone.
- In your iCloud, if it is on. Arc uses Apple's CloudKit to mirror that data
into your private iCloud database so it follows you to a new phone. It is your
Apple Account, not ours; we have no access to it and no way to request it.
Turn iCloud off and Arc keeps working entirely on the phone.
- Wherever you export it. Settings lets you export a backup as a JSON file.
That file goes wherever you send it. After that it is yours to manage.
Apple Health
If — and only if — you switch on auto-tracking for a task, Arc asks permission to
read the matching activity: step count, exercise minutes, and workouts.
- Read only. Arc never writes anything to Health.
- The values are used on the device to tick a task off, and are not copied anywhere else.
- The readings themselves are never sent off your phone and are never written into the
backup file or the finisher card. What the backup does record is the same thing you see
on screen: that a task was completed, and that it was ticked automatically rather than
by hand.
- Refuse the permission and those tasks simply become normal manual ones. Nothing breaks.
- You can revoke it any time in Settings › Privacy & Security › Health.
Camera and photos
- The camera opens only when you tap a progress photo task. The picture is saved
straight to your own photo library. Arc keeps no copy, shows it nowhere, and does
not analyse or verify it. Arc only records that you ticked the task.
- Arc asks for add-only photo access — enough to save a picture, not enough to read
your library.
- Saving a finisher card writes that one image to your photo library, nothing else.
Notifications
All reminders are scheduled locally by your iPhone. There is no push server, so nothing about
your schedule or progress ever leaves the device. Arc only asks for notification permission
after you have started a challenge, and every reminder can be turned off in Settings.
Purchases
The one-time unlock is handled entirely by Apple's App Store. We never see your card, your
billing address, or your Apple Account. Apple tells the app one thing: whether the unlock is
currently active.
Children
Arc is not directed at children under 13. It collects no personal information from anyone,
of any age. If a purchase is made through Apple's Ask to Buy, the approval happens in
Apple's system, not ours.

Arc's App Store listing declares Data Not Collected. Health, camera and
photo access are permissions the app requests on your device; none of that data is collected
by the developer.
Deleting your data
- Delete the app and the on-device copy goes with it.
- Remove the iCloud copy in Settings › your name › iCloud › Manage Account Storage.
- There is no data-deletion request to file with us, because we are not holding anything.
Changes
If this policy changes, the new version and its effective date appear on this page.
Material changes will also be noted in the app's release notes.
